    Trying A New Recipe

These bad bad boys should be ready for deer camp by late muzzle loader season in January. Trying out my Mom's spicy pickle recipe on a small batch to see if I like it.

I have a batch in the fridge as we speak. I don't cook, but I make a mean jar of pickled eggs. Is your mom's recipe a secret?

I'll try to shoot it to you when I get a chance. It's the first time I've tried if on eggs. So, we'll see how it works out.

Muddy, in college, we used to have fart-lighting contests in the dorm to see who could shoot the biggest flame. Once I'd visited the local bar (Cadillac's Recreation Center) and had a few pickled eggs washed down with a few cold beers, I was pretty much unbeatable! I will say I screwed up once. I figured I did so well farting through my jeans, I could probably have a literal blow-torch if I dropped my pants and farted through my tighty-whiteys.

HUGE mistake! Ya' ever burned all the hairs off yer asshole?

CD, I have 4-5 jars of these bad boys in the fridge as we speak. Heck, I might have a couple with my lunch! (ham sammich)

That has to be some sort of freudian slip of some kind, dealing with the topic of pickled a-ggs.

Wife saves all her Claussen dill pickle juice for me....that's the best-tasting pickling juice I have found for my eggs....just heat it up, throw in a couple of extra red peppers, and drop in the boilt eggs.

Here you go. Thump and Posthole might especially like the Thai peppers. Rumor has it that Muddy has a sensitive constitution when it comes to peppers and may need to cut the recipe down a bit.

I guess you could call the mixture without the peppers something cool like 'Summer's Eve'.

Come to think of it the house did smell a awful lot like Grandma's old red bag when I was cooking it up.

Good Lord! Welp, that closes the pickle container for me. I'm out!

CD, one of my favorites is the Thai cucumber salad that's served in many Thai restaurants as a side. In Thailand, it almost always comes with satay. Lynn makes it for me often ... it goes GREAT with most any meat ... even BBQ. I believe the recipe is very similar to that pickle recipe. Basically very thin onion slices, Thai peppers, cucumber slices, rice vinegar, sugar and probably a few other things (I don't make it, I just eat it!). Man, I can make a meal of that stuff!

    I know I've had a cucumber/papaya salad that's like that. Good stuff!

Depends P-hole. Peanuts is a common option, but not necessary. Also, the salad doesn't need to "rest" like the pickles. Lynn will make it, put it in the fridge, then by time supper is ready, the salad has chilled and the (THIN) slices of cucumber have soaked up the flavor.
