    Deer and Snow

Since this place is kinda quiet, Ill post some pictures from our Christmas trip to the property.

As you know I do not have a 4 wheel drive truck. When we arrived at the hwy entrance, we had to hand shovel the road.
Attachment 8399 That picture was taken, when we came out from the property, to head to town.
That roads leads up to the alfalfa field road.
Its 1/2 mile to our gate entrance.
I put my chains on and made a run up that hill.

No problems, just a little fishtailing!! Kinda fun!

I did have trouble in the 14 inches of snow, on the field road, but I just kept the peddle down and watched the backend of the truck, throw snow all over the place.

Got to the gate and that gate is 14 inches high.

Once I got through the gate I still had a ways to go, in the deep snow, until I got to the 5th wheel.

We shoveled the area out in front of the 5th wheel to get the truck under the porch area.

Next morning we spent a few hours hand shoveling the whole road from the gate, to the 5th wheel and around the circle in front of the 5th wheel

Heres some pictures of the hand shoveling we did from the gate all the way to the 5th wheel and around the circle in front of the 5th wheel, where the fire pit is at.

Two SnowShelties. We made the snow people by rolling the snow down the road area.

For Christmas, we only bought snowshoes. This was my first time snowshoeing and we had a lot of fun.
I was sore the next day, but it was fun.
We are looking into cross country skies for next year.

Here, one of the camera's caught hubby, when we were snowshoeing.

Here I am standing, where the house will be built, with my snowshoes!

It was 20 degrees and in the teens at night.

Even though we were only over there for five days, it was a lot off fun.
Had a fire each night, did snow shoeing, even shoveling all that snow off the road was fun, made snow people and snow ice cream!
First time, really had fun on the property, without constantly working ourselves to death.

This spring we will be putting in the new road and still working on that field tensile fencing.
At least we now have power to the 5th wheel.

Hope everyone has a good new year!

Wow! Just imagine when you'll see all of that through your front window!

Looks like Lamont and Grady are enjoying the snow too! Give old Lamont an extra biscuit for me.
