    A sly visitor.

Sitting in my stand and this booger shows up.
He's still here. Just eating corn. You know he's hungry if he's eating corn.

I know it and I wanted to. But I bet I would have run all the deer and hogs off if I did.

Eating corn?? He should have been eating lead!

I bet I would have run all the deer and hogs off if I did.

But you said there are no hogs at the hunt club ... and you can knock a deer down ANY time!

And the fox is back and it's almost dark. His mistake.

Got it! It would have made more sense with a well placed comma.

Wild quail are all but a thing of the past around here. When I was a kid they were everywhere and we hunter them every chance we got. Now it's just an occasional sighting. I would dare not shoot a wild bird. We are reduced to hunting pen raised and flight condition birds.

Those gray fox are purty little critters. We used to have them here - along with civet cats (spotted skunks). Haven't seen a gray for 20 years or a civet cat for 30.
If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.
