    Favorite Outdoor thing?

Since we all know Cap'n would rather Turkey hunt than just about anything; I wonder what everyone's favortie thing to do outdoors is? Other than BBP shagging the missus for outdoor boinking day.

I wonder how many we'd be able to guess of each other?

I love all the stuff I do outdoors and they're all different and I like them for different reasons. But... if you were told you could only do ONE outdoor activity the rest of your life, what would it be?
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.

    Deer hunting, then Turkey.

Improve wildlife habitat including planting food plots, controlled burns and tower stand building.
Hunting anything would be next and fishing after that.

    Favorite Outdoor thing?

Duck hunt. Then deer, then boating. I did get out to fish for the first time in a very long time this weekend and it's got that itch starting again for me.

It's a bit chillier. I had to put on a windbreaker to walk to my car at the airport. The trip was a nice break but I couldn't take that year around.

I was gonna say pina coladas and getting caught in the rain, but it sounded too cliche.

I would have to agree with Big Muddy but would probably change the order to fur, feathers, or fins.

Hunting critters with horns (OK, I know it's antlers, in most cases anyway, so sue me) for some reason really seems to drive me. That being said, I probably get the most enjoyment, and occasionally frustration too, from assisting a child or newbie to get their first deer, turkey, etc. I LOVE seeing them light-up like a kid on Christmas morning when they succeed.

And then there is watching a good hunting dog in action, and ...

    Can I change mine?

Skinny dipping with a friend of the split tail variety has always been one of my favoritest outdoor activities.

its just now I have to do it at night.

I've been pondering this question and haven't really come up with an answer yet. I really do consider myself a man of all seasons and enjoy being outdoors in all of them and my outdoor activities change accordingly. (I've lived in places with only two season like wet and dry or hot and hotter and that may be part of the reason.)

25 years ago I would have said camping. 20 years ago I would have said deer hunting. Now I'd have to say definitely fishing. And I'd have to say I have YOU effers to thank for reigniting that love for me, truthfully. So thanks!

    Camping. Hands down.
And I'm breaking the rules, but camping has and does include either hunting or fishing. And cooking! And drinking!

As I've gotten older (63 this year) I've found that almost all of my physical fitness goals have been related o prolonging my diving years. Sadly, I am already usually the senior person on most dive boats. And that's a bummer. I'm nowhere near ready to stop or alter how I dive.

BBP, we need to hook up some time and share stories and experiences. Our retirement is being planned mostly around diving! I was trying to stay on track in the thread, but I believe that single activity is going to align with other outdoors preferences, particularly fishing and biking. I think diving can be done well into advanced ages...
