    Len and Other Gitfiddle Knowerabouters

I'm about to go buy my grandson a starter guitar for his "6th birthday". Any suggestions on one anyone has any experience with? I'm thinking 3/4 size? Actually if I can find a 3/4 size Ovation or
yammerhammer I might be seriously tempted. Do they even still make Ovation?

Ovations are too hard to keep in your lap with that rounded back. Dislike.

My bro-in-law got his son a mini-taylor and said it weren't all that spendy.

I think the most important thing when giving a kid a guitar to see if they take to it is the playability. The action is everything. It can make or break their desire to push thru the difficulty (once they get past having sore fingertips). I was in a shp last week and picked up a $150 fender acoustic that played like a champ. The tone was a $150 tone but the playability was excellent.
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.

Birddog called and gave me his input too. For the reasons you mentioned Len, and from what BD told me, I went with the Yamaha JR2. It has a really cool 'Tobacco Sunburst' finish that he'll love too. Now I just can't wait till his damn birthday.

We could have a contest called "Guess how old Postholes Grandson is"
The winner will not be the one who guess the correct age, the winner will be the guy that gives the clue where LJ figures out how old he is.

Posty, if you can provide a little more info on this I'm sure LJ can give you a great answer. Please fill out the following:

    1) who is the Guitar for?
    2) is it for a special occasion? (ie birthday)
    3) how old is the person you are buying it for.

Well, I put 'sixth birthday' in quotes, so it could have meant anything.

Good thing he is a IT supervisor and did not get into Law Enforcement. I can see him writing a ticket and asking the guy "how fast did I say you were going?" Guy: 55. LJ: Oh, OK we are all good.

Well, actually "two things" would be a good clue ... but I'm not so sure you're on the right track.

Since your avatar is right next to the image, I count three boobs.

Speaking of breasticles, I watched "Passengers" last night and the nubile lass in that movie is built like a brick shithouse.

Not a bad movie but a tad predictable.

You're cheating ... but that should be a MAJOR help to amateur noticers ... like "you-know-who".

'Course like most of your pics, that one's bassackwards.
