    Whatchoo Carrying?

    Pocket knife, that is.

I bought a bunch of knives from Jim a few years ago and in the pile was one that I've become uncomfortably attached to. If it isn't in my pocket I don't feel right. Its a dandy too, a Puma Bantam two blade. That knife alone made the purchase feel like stealing.

He made up for that sale on Oyster knives to me and Arty...
Oh, and I normally carry a small 2 blade Trapper. Usually Case.
But I literally have hundreds of pocketknives. And that reminds me I NEED to sell a bunch of those...
Lots of collector case knifes if anyone is needing any

I'm a man of fairly utilitarian needs. I typically carry this little buck knife during the work week and a Gerner clip on during the weekend.

I have a buck scout model I got as a gift 25 years ago and recently broke the tip off the blade. Anyone have experience sending them in for repair? It has tremendous sentimental value and is also a bad ass knife that's dressed more than a few deer.

I've never sent one in personally, but aren't Buck knives guaranteed for life?

I carry a four dollar Imperial made of the highest quality.... metal. At least I think it's metal.

I have a Gerber with a gut hook for serious varmint skinning and a dressy looking Case knife for church and weddings and such

You're not the only person I know that has a 'dress knife'. My step-Dad carries an old Barlow when he's out working around the place. When he's dressed up for work or church he has a nice liitle two blade 'dress knife'.

That's okay, I have 'dress' ball caps. For funerals and such.

Dang, I didn't realize that one was in the pile and I obviously undercharged you!

    Len,
My dad had a pocket knife that the tip broke off of too and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as he now has a fairly effective screwdriver.

I've owned several brands of pocket-knives, thru the years, but this little Buck is perfect for my everyday use....liked it so well, that I purchased another one, just a few days later.

My requirements for an everyday pocket-knife are:

    1) a 2"-3" blade
    2) a thumb stud
    3) push-type lock-back
    4) easy to locate, preferably, day-glo orange.....I've never understood why people want a dang camo knife, that's hard to find.

Larke I have lost as many pocket knives as I've bought. Haven't carried one in several years. Pick me out a goodun' and send me a bill.
As long as payment isn't due in oyster knives.

    Lol.
What do you like? 2 blade, 3 blade? Something like a stockman, or a trapper?

2 blade. They tend to thinner for the most part. I like stockman the best.

Arty, I have some very good 3 blade Smith and Wesson Stockmans that are small and good quality. They were made by Vermont Knife company for Smith in the mid 80's. I've had them a longtime. Smith tactical knifes are now made in China and are low quality if you ask me.
The knifes I have as small 3 blade stockmans with 440C steel, the same steel Benchmade and Spyderco use. Don't compare them with the stuff being turned out today with the Smith brand.
I found a picture of them on the net...

Larke you might as well just send Arty a bill and chunk the knife in the river somewhere. Be the same difference
