Photorealism
I have a now deceased Air Force buddy that I met when I was stationed in Tampa in the 70's who was an incredible artist. During the three years we were close friends there, he dabbled in several mediums and I honestly can't think of a single thing he wasn't good at. He built a table out of old pallets (thirty years before it became the thing to do) he found at the dump.
Anyways, one of the 'genres'' he worked in for a while was photorealsim. It tooks him many hours to do one, but when they were finished, you could hardly tell them from a photo.
When I saw this on CNN today it reminded me of Mark Sellers, Lincolnton, NC. who died way too damn young.
