Last Sporting Event at RFK Stadium

The end of RFK stadium is near. Man that place has some great memories for me. My Dad had season tickets back in the heyday of the Skins. I've seen great playoff games there that are etched in my mind forever. I've seen the Grateful Dead there and a bunch of other concerts. I saw the Washington Senators and tons of great players from that era. I've seen World Cup games there. I even saw Pele play when I was a wee lad, remember it like it was yesterday.

We got tickets for the last DC United game there this weekend. I'm pretty sure that's the last sporting even that will be played there. The stadium is old and outdated and that land is too friggin valuable now.

Sunday, we tailgate one last time at RFK!

They opened up the upper deck for the United match. Nit should be a good one.

Yeah. We’re sitting in the Barra brava fan section but I plan on venturing up to the upper deck at some point.

The Redskins had all two of their winning seasons there. I’m sure it brings a tear to the eyes of fans.

Maybe they'll change their racist name while they're at it

Seriously. All the problems started when they left RFK.

    True enough.
