    Best Christmas Present EVER!

Got a call from my son's doctor saying the tumor they removed from his femur was NOT cancerous!!

There were lots of people, here included, who were praying and putting in good words for him and rest assured my family and I appreciate each and every one of them!

    AWESOME NEWS!

jb - it was called an enchondroma. In this case a rapid growing cartilage tumor.

Plan is to get the stitches out in a day or so and then haul him back to college with hopes that he is mobile enough to make it to his classes on time.

I had my foot in a cast and was on crutches when I started college. Before everyone learned each other's names, I was referred to as "the guy with the foot". As we got situated and got to know each other, the name "Foot" stuck ... and that's what all my college friends called me the whole time I was in school. I still get the occasional email or text from a few of those guys, and to this day, everything is addressed to "Foot".

The body is an amazing thing. I had a surgery at the end of October to scrape the biscuits and gravy out of my right carotid artery that was about 80% blocked. I had a big old slash up the right side of my neck that made small children hide behind their mammas skirts when I went out in public. Now its totally healed and the scar is about halfway gone. They did cut a nerve or something because from my adams apple over to the incision on that side its still numb. Makes it scary to shave there.
Anyway, it is an amazing thing how fast one heals up from those intrusions.

Ha! I know the feeling P-hole! That's the reason I never take my shirt off at the beach or the pool anymore.

Last night he was noting that his body seems to be covering up the sutures which weren't slated to come out until Thursday. We sent pictures to the doctor who said they can either come out now or he can try to grab the end of the string and rotate them so there is still something to get ahold of come Thursday. He has tried the rotation thing and say it hurts like a MF sop he asked Momma if he can just cut them out himself. Time will tell if there is anything left to do by the time he is scheduled to have the doctor remove them this afternoon.

I’ve never had a zipper like him. But, I’ve removed plenty of my own stitches over the years. There’s really not much to it.
