Cap, the red wasp makes a gobbler horny.....

Had a big azz gobbler and a hen step out in front of me at about 80 yards, this afternoon.....they scratched and pecked around in some cow turds for a few minutes, then quartered away from me.

I gave ‘em your old red wasp call, and they stopped dead in their tracks, and looked around.....I gave it to ‘em again, and they turned and looked at each other.....next thing I knew, the gobbler mounted the hen, and he screwed her like a wild ape for about 5 minutes, right in front of me and the Good Lord. !!!

After he finished, they parted ways, and hit the woods.....I called him until nearly dark, but I guess he had got all the stuff he wanted for today.

I’ll see if he might like the red wasp better, tomorrow.

If he's already henned up I think about your only option was to hit a gobble call, he'll either take off with his woman or get upset...at least that's been my luck.....And congrats on seeing your first turkey porn

Well, just sheeit, he came back out nearly in the same place, today.....but, this time , he was alone, and acted really spooky.....the adjoining landowner was running a dozer, right across the property line, and he must not liked it.....he took about 10 steps out into the field, then immediately turned around, and walked right back into the woods.....never even had a chance to work him over with the red wasp.....well, maybe next week I'll take another chance at him.

    That’s funny Muddy.
That is the only call I take to the woods. I hammered four with it in two weeks in SC this year. And have not been back hunting.
I’m waiting on NC season to come in with a fresh set of tags.
Keep after him, he might wake up with morning wood one day soon!

Man, I’ve never been able to make a mouth call sound like anything other than a scalded dog. Did you get him this morning?

Nah, had to work this morning.....taught a farm chemical class to some native American farmers.....btw, they're smart and very interested in learning.

Anyway, I won't be able to get back down to my turkey hole, until next week.

Yep, sorta like a fishing hole, except gobblers inhabit this one.....problem is, I just have to work sooooo day'um hard to kill a big 'un there.

To make matters worse, the landowner called me a bit ago, and said the adjoining landowner is gonna do a prescribed burn on his property.....that explains the reason that he was over there, with his dozer.....he was clearing his fire lanes.....the burn could be both good and bad.....good part is, it'll prolly move some birds off his property to my lease.....bad part is, it's awful late for a burn, and the fire will prolly destroy some early turkey nests(eggs).
