    Bass hog!

I catch a ton of bass, crappie, bluegill, redear, shell cracker , and catfish out of the 3 acre pond behind the house.
Other than a BIG ass catfish that I caught last summer (on a little rooster tail), this is probably the biggest I’ve ever caught.
Naysayers will clock it at 4 pounds. I’ve caught a pile of 4 pounders. This certainly went close to 6.
Nice fish. And she wasn’t 12 inches off the bank. I hadn’t closed the bale before she was 12 feet out.
She turned the ‘yak, and pulled me around a bit. A really fun catch. My neighbor was fishing (drinking) with me, and took some pics.
I am 99% sure this fish broke me off 2 weeks ago when she swam down and got me hung up in a bunch of thick moss.
    Not this time!!!

Looks like you were late to set the hook.

Did you cut the line to take her home for dinner?

She just barely has the back of her throat caught, and with pliers I coulda gotten it out easily. I just cut the line.

oh, by the by... I think every fisherman's goal should be to catch a bass bigger than their kids were when they were born.. Both my kids weighed about 7 1/2.. I've caught two over 8.. That may not seem like much to you "southern" boys - but I live in the "black hole" of bass fishing where a true 5 is a *big* bass.
