Anyone want to guess why I'm super excited (virtually giddy) over this particular and very unique walleye I caught today?

Not sure where you were fishing. Are Walleye normally found in those waters?
One year a group of us were up in TW and Johnboy’s part of the world (Alberta) fishing on Lesser Slave Lake. I think it was Dave (an ex-G/H regular) who caught a nice tagged Walleye. (A 5 pounder if I remember correctly) Ol’ P-hole may be able to add some details. I get my trips up there confused at times. “Old-timers” is setting in these days.
If I remember correctly, he mailed the tag in and received a letter documenting the history of that fish.
Cool deal!
