Got me a deer today. August 1st.

Rabbit rabbit rabbit. Let's start with that!
On my way home from a Rhode Island beach with the dog in the back seat and a full trunk in my Mazda 2...
I spied a small spotted deer on the side of the road....."MINE" I am thinking. Pulled around and put that little deer right in the back seat on the floor. Dog was mystified, paralyzed, and darn right curious. Ha! Getting well acquainted on the next 2 miles to the house.
Since this little spotted guy was no bigger than your average Labrador retriever, I had it skinned, gutted, split and in the fridge in 45 minutes. All cleaned up, too.
Made myself a celebratory drink and wrote this to y'all.
I have no one who would be proud of me. No one who would acknowledge the skill it takes to do what I just did. No one to brag to. No one to congratulate me. I have meat in my fridge. Didn't cost me a thing. I have this incredible feeling of accomplishment and no one to share it with.
Thanks, guys, for always giving me a place to share.

Thanks, guys. I guess I was feeling a bit melancholy. Out of a husband and six kids, none of them caught this "disease" I have.

Now THAT'S bringin' home the bacon! Errrr, venison I guess. Nice work!

From roadside to table ... that bunch sittin' around the table eatin' those tender medallions better appreciate you, or give us a call and we'll run up there and rough 'em up for you!

Good to see you drop in again Cindy. Don't be such a stranger around this joint.

    Hey Cindy B!
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.

"""I spied a small spotted deer on the side of the road....."""

You must be swoof on your feet to catch him, or do we assume it was road kill???
