    Finally some good river fishin'!

This year has been very tough for fishing the upper potomac. All the rain has kept the river in a 'barely fishable - don't even bother' status.

Good thing my BFF has the same fishing addiction as me and has no problem fishing in a driving rain when the conditions are finally good!

We put 33 fish in the boat in a few hours and I finally caught my personal best smallie at 20.5". I've been chasing a 20+" smallie for a loooooooonnnnngggg time. Captain Egghead put me right where I needed to be and a wacky rigged senko did the trick. I thought I was hung up on the bottom of the river until the 'snag' gave me a head shake and was off to the races. Good times!

Nice fish man. Very nice. Autumn weather will have you getting caught up on your fishing soon I hope. We've had a wet summer here too.

I like it when normally clear water gets a little stain on it like that too. That seems to embolden the crawdads which drive bass nuts.

That’un is a dandy, congrats. And that’s a five pound smallie by the old rule of thumb. I’m not sure that a replica wouldn’t end up on my wall if it was me. Purty fish.

They do, not sure what the specs are, though. I think it may be 21"... which is complete and total bullshit, clearly.

With Egghead as a witness. I wonder what a positive response costs these days, eh? I hear Egghead likes good brown liquor. (hint!)

I have no problem with you claiming the fish but for the general health and welfare of the rest of us, I strongly suggest that egghead holds the fish and you stand "Behind" the camera next time

When you're right you're right, maybe they should lay the fish down and both get behind the camera

    1) CD: Bite me!
    2) LJ: We gotta work on your picture taking - that last in the first post is a spot burner!
    d) It was my pleasure to share the afternoon and re-live through the pictures.
    6) It is my recollection that you had 4 over 16 inches. Me, not so much, though that one that straightened my hook might have been 16 inches or better! I'll rest my laurels on catching one more than you.
