    You East Coastians

Take care of yourself in this hurricane. Sounds like a baddie.

Thanks, buddy. Looks like the worst will stay south of me. It could hit guys like Larke, Airbus and RT hard though. Time to batten down the hatches!

Latest updates looks like it may miss me and Virginia, but dump heavily across North Carolina.

Dang, Abud, I hope you're right.....looks like Beech Island is only about 100 miles from the ocean.....we live almost 300 miles from the gulf coast, and we had 75 mph winds here at my home, during Katrina.

I'll never forget that sustained wind, which shifted 180 degrees, it was relentless.....first, from the south for half the night, then, from the north for the next half day.....it blew the cut-glass door outta my son's brand new home, and tossed it across his front yard about 200 ft.....the contractor and I picked it up the next day, and it didn't even have a scratch on it.....he re-installed it within an hour.

I'm praying for ALL you east coast folks !!!!!

We are about 120 miles in. Hugo kicked out ass in 1989 and I pray we don’t see anything like that ever again.

My son is in Hawaii for two weeks. Just last week, we were talking about how lucky he was because he missed Hurricane Lane just a few weeks ago. He just arrived in Honolulu today and Olivia is headed straight for the islands now!

I'll second the motion for hoping you boys come through unscathed. It looks like they have the things moping into landfall in no particular hurry and that's not good.

We were looking at getting a bunch of rain and wind here up in the mountains but mayhap this thing is going to go too far south to give us much more than a hard rain or two. And that's what we've had most all summer long so that's no worry.

Now if I could just figure out where the leak around my chimney is coming from I'd be set.

In all seriousness, I hope all of you in the path make it through in good shape.

Just saw a guy who lives on a barrier island. His logic for staying put is ‘I’ve lived here all my life and I know storms’.

I hope he makes it out alive, but mostly I hope he doesn’t cost some first responder their lives trying to save his intelligent ass.

Barrier islands issued a mandatory evac order. You don't HAVE to leave, but if you stay, ain't nobody, no-how coming to get your stupid ass.
