...I'm taking advantage of the nice weather tomorrow and going to try to call in a turkey for my dad.
Though the season has been open for 3 weeks I have yet to get out due to other obligations so this will be a combined scouting/hunting trip.
Hopefully happy hunter pics to follow.
Good luck and post up a pic when you can. Rumor has it I may be trying to do the same in the morning.

Get 'em, Bwana.. i have one, possibly two, hunters coming in this weekend.. It's been a pretty decent season, so far.. I haven't posted any pics because, as a very wise man said once, "I realize nobody hunts here... "

Well, sadly not hero shots to post. The ranch we hunted both Friday and Saturday is the same one that told us not to bother coming out for our annual turkey safari last fall due to VERY few turkeys. He should have told us the same thing this spring.
Though no gobblers were harmed in the making of this adventure, it was awesome spending time with Dad.
We hunted two mornings and it’s hard to imagine it was the same property. Friday we had three different birds gobbling and Larke had one hammering back and coming in on a string. Unfortunately, he hung up on a creek and shut up when we gave up trying to coax him and tried to move closer. That evening we had some storms come through and Saturday morning there was not a peep. Larke is a master turkey caller and RT videoed some of it. So, maybe he will post it.
