Last weekend the local Air Guard unit hosted an air show. I took my son since he had really enjoyed watching the Blue Angels when we were on Spring Break.

The headliners of this show was the Thunderbirds. He really enjoyed their show too and also got their autographs just like he did from the Blue Angels.

It was a really cool show. The Air Guard unit was celebrating their history so they had several of the planes that they have flown in the past there. They were formed right after WWII and are a fighter wing so their first plane was the P-51 Mustang and there was one there that did some flying demos alongside their current aircraft which is the A-10 Thunderbolt. They also had an F-100 do a flying demonstration.

There is another reserve unit close by that is a refueling wing so they also had a KC-135 tanker that you could go through along with a C-17. There was even a B-52.

But the absolute highlight had to be the B-25 which we got to see fly and the B-17 which was open for walk throughs. I was surprised at how small it actually was.
