    One of those days

Today is one of the days that makes a guy wonder why he ever got a dog in the first place.

Our lab Zeke died this morning. He was almost 11. He had gotten pretty sick the past couple of weeks and the vet found a large tumor. We had decided to have the surgery and he made it through that but just couldn’t recover his strength and never made it home from the vet’s.

I’m dreading picking up the kids from school today and telling them. I think that will be the worst part.

That is one of of those life lessons that are very hard to give. And take. Sorry you lost your pup, Deppity. That always sucks.

Sorry to hear DD. They really are members of the family aren't they? Here's to hoping they are lots of slow squirrels and juicy bones in the afterlife.

Sorry to hear that Deppity. They definitely become family members rather than mere pets and that makes it particularly difficult at times like this.

We've all been there and done that Ddog.....and, we really know the pain of losing a family pet.....our sympathies go out to you and your family, especially, the kids.

Bummer and I am sorry, it sucks it’s the trade off for having them in our lives.

I have dogs planted all over this farm.. It's never fun.. sorry for your loss..
If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.
