Personally, I've never been a big fan of country music (or whatever it's called these days).

One of the best lines from the Blues Brothers movie. “What kind of music do you normally have here? Oh, we have both kinds, Country and Western.”

Yep, that's what it was called back in "my day". As a kid, I spent a LOT of time around the various NASCAR garages. Heck, I couldn't tell you how many times I slept on a pile of tires when my dad pulled those all-nighters helping get a car ready for raceday. I don't think there was a garage in town that didn't have "Country Western" playin' on the radio. But, I never really became a fan and spent my youth as a "rocker".

I still am for the most part ... although my rock is now referred to as "Classic Rock".

I love that second song and it's basically my personal theme song. However I can't stand Luke Bryan. He sounds like Kermit the Frog if he was faking a southern accent. I'd rather listen to Kermit.

Big Skyz ..... Big Skyz .... dang that moniker sounds familiar, but I just can't quite place you. Anyway, welcome to the site ... whoever you are.

Hey, leave him alone. He’s been too busy decimating the trout population in his new digs.

I’m a big fan of Country but my tastes prolly run more to the classic artists than the modern tight t shirt ball cap boys with their fake accents. I do like some of the edgier new country acts like Zac Brown and Chris Stapleton is as much a blues artist as he is country.
As far as mainstream country I’m a big fan of Jerry Jeff Walker’s early stuff, Lyle Lovett, all that stuff. I’m a big steve earle fan.

I guess I’m all over the map. Except for the new shit. And the gals are just as sorry as the guys.

My tastes in music are all over the map. I can listen to "country", but it's WAY down on my list of preferences and I generally only listen when I'm with someone else who happens to be listening to it. I also rate jazz down there toward the bottom, but there is some modern jazz I like ... but I think it's been morphed much like "country" is today.

I like rock including the classic rock as well as what was called "acid rock" back in the day. Rock left me in the dust when heavy metal kicked in. I just never could get into that noise. Ha! Sounds like my parents! Maybe I was at that age where I was maturing a bit as far as music goes. I LOVE the Blues ... not the really old stuff so much, but I could put some slow, more modern, mellow blues on and listen 24/7. I like Reggae believe it or not and my satellite radio is locked on "The Joint". It may sound goofy, but I also like a lot of the hip-hop stuff (so shoot me!). But, as I said, my tastes are all over the map and I even have 70-80 cd's of nothing but classical music. I just have to be in the right mood and I can actually spend a few days listening to Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Mozart, Bach or Beethoven! (you didn't know I have some class, did you?)

You ever listen to The Steeldrivers?
Stapleton was the front man for that Bluegrass group before he went out on his own
