    'Splain this to me Lucy!

I ship a TON of packages via USPS and include Tracking with all of my shipments. I've noticed, most everything that is addressed to the East Coast, goes out of the USPS Distribution Center in Orlando. Everything else goes out of the Distribution Center in Tampa. I live between Tampa and Orlando, so whatever I mail here, goes to those distribution centers before leaving the State. I live along the Interstate Hwy that runs between Tampa and Orlando (it runs from Tampa to Daytona). I'm approx. 35 miles East of Tampa and 55 miles West of Orlando. Now here's where my confusion comes in. Whenever I mail something that is going to the East Coast, it goes from here, 35 miles WEST to Tampa ... THEN turns around and goes 90 miles EAST to Orlando ... passing through HERE on the way.

Seems like a strange way to run a railroad!

P.S. I'm pretty sure I know why they do it, it just looks really stupid when you follow the tracking. I can wave bye-bye when it leaves here, then wave at it again when it comes back through!

Elementary my dear Watson, you see the United States Postal Service is a branch of the U.S. government and they do everything bassackwards. I figured a sharp guy like you would have picked up on that fast quick and in a hurry, you must be slowing down

that's where the high-tech Distribution Center is....they don't care if you sent it to your neighbor or to California...overall efficiency for everyone.

Somebody is crotchety this morning. Naw, I'd have to turn it down. I think I need to be the Illustrious Potentate of the NCAA, they need an enema with common sense

Ummm, A/B, both Tampa and Orlando have the same "high-tech" distribution centers.

I’ll bet Amazon caused them to make those decisions.
