You should have catalpa trees out the wazoo where you live. Catalpa worms was always my go to bait for redear and bluegills on Arkansas waters when I did a lot of fishing there. When I was a kid, my Uncle Huck would freeze them in pill bottles so he’d have them all year. I’ve seen them come back to life after thawing out.

Heat wave coming with temps this weekend in the low 30's, just might bring the crickets back out again.

haven't seen any catalpa trees around here. As a kid I used them all the time. Little channel cat love them. Ilm going with red wigglers because I've got a 3 & a 5 year grand daughter that are about ready to introduce to bream fishing

Time again to pass along the advice that has launched many generations to success in just about any endeavor you ever face: When the bobber goes under, PULL!

And the corollary to that: They ain’t got no hands!

It's a proven scientific fact that grandfathers were designed specifically for training small children in the art of perchjerkin

Oh, and I did set a couple bobcat snares.. I'm not very good at it.

If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.
