Our Governor allowed the beaches to re-open this weekend, with restrictions. The idea is to use them only for swimming, running, surfing, walking, biking, fishing and exercising pets. Sunbathing and gathering in groups is not allowed (no beach towels or chairs) and he appealed to people to maintain social distancing. The hours are restricted to 6 am - 11 am. Then again at 5 pm to 8 pm. (morning and evening walks basically) He's left the final decision (to open) up to local mayors and authorities. I'm not sure how it'll go, but it's a controlled start I guess. He did order schools to remain closed for the remainder of the academic year.
I'm sure the "stupid Floridians" memes will start popping up immediately by the haters ... but what'cha gonna do?

Yessir, I'm getting to the point I don't know where the line should be drawn anymore. We're basically home bound and have been from the start, but it's really starting to get old. Just last night, Lynn said, "I can't wait for us to go out for a NICE dinner once this thing is over." What really sucks is, both our vehicles are sitting in the driveway with full tanks of $1.50 gas, but there's no place to go.

Yeah, same picture. That stuff made the local news here and they showed the National News coverage showing the Florida beaches with people packed like sardines. The local (Florida) station showed drone video of the beaches and they were deserted.
