If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.

We survived the storms and tornadoes, but it got really nasty, at times.....so far, 19 souls have been lost across the four southern gulf states, and it appears it's not finished with the eastern seaboard, yet.
I just got off the phone with Larke, and it hit his south farm at 4:30, this morning....he's got lots of trees down on his fences, but is safe, otherwise.

We got hammered by rain and straight line winds last night. There’s a couple of Tornado warnings in the are right now. Thankfully, not headed toward me from what they’re saying. (One north and one south)

Josie was hunkered-down in my office, but musta got a little nervous during the storms because she chewed up the cardboard from a case of 12 ga. shotgun shells, which I had left laying on the floor in a corner.....she had never touched them, previously.

Prolly because the box had your scent on it. And it was handy! Who knows what logic pups use when they decide what to destroy? It was there! It needed destroying, lol.

Big storm last night damaged farm house. Roof, siding, one 150 year old tree down in yard, not on house thankfully. And I'm stuck hunkered down like an old sick man. The entire county is out of power, roads impassable due to power lines down, and trees. Will be weeks before power lines back up and power restored.

Same old, same old. Adjuster called today and said he'd get there tomorrow. But he won't be able to. Poles, lines, trees, are still down all over the road, for miles and miles.

They now say that this storm was a probably 100 mph straight line wind, miles and miles wide. I guess that's pretty much like a Cat ? Hurricane?? Course, my house was/is in the very middle of it. And I can't even get there. Carpenter said he'd try and get there.......he DID go look at it, by driving through ditches, across power poles, etc....and said the roof was down to the decking in many spots, shingles AND tar paper gone. I may have already said all this. Sorry if I did, I'm pretty overwhelmed.

Meanwhile, the USA is crumbling around me, and some bio-weapon is trying to eat all of us. And there ain't no toilet paper.

Not sure there's enough whiskey on Earth for all this........

Groceries delivered. Whiskey is another issue, especially in a dry county!
