Exactly. Why do these things need to be mutually exclusive?

Term limits would solve the later.....40 years in public office will make a crook outta anybody.....change the IRS regulations, if you don't like the previous.

His tax returns will look like any other billionaires taxes. Lot of income, tons of write offs.

What Arty said. The problem is, the Dems would spend the next 4-1/2 years scrutinizing and trying to criminalize every frigging write-off he had, which would in turn prevent Congress from getting ANYTHING accomplished .... just like the past 3-1/2 years!

You mean like they did the past republican president’s tax returns?

As I’ve heard a lot lately about another big lie, “What does he have to lose?”

TBH ... I could give a rat's ass about ANY President's civilian/pre-Presidential tax returns ... Dem or Rep. If there's anything shady (read: illegal) in there, isn't it the responsibility of the IRS to find it and handle it legally? As Hillary would say, "At this point, what difference does it make?" Why doesn't the IRS take a closer peek and see what's there? They're the experts, right? Congress needs to get off their witch-hunting asses and try to better this country ... which is what they were elected to do IMHO.

Squirrel?? I remember that term from my Jr. H/S debating class and it generally meant there was no way to oppose a statement and almost always meant a victory for the presenter.

Awww, come on now! Don't make it THAT easy.

But, if you're throwing in the towel, I'll go back to my "I don't give a rat's ass" statement, about ANYBODY'S returns. Who cares? BTW ... There is NO legal requirement for a Presidential candidate to make his tax returns public. Gerald Ford never did. It's VOLUNTARY! Heck, why make them public anyway? Do you really think the general public would understand a damn thing about a billionaire's returns? Covering a bazillion different businesses, investments and real estate holdings? Heck, the "general public" is so clueless they take their SIMPLE tax returns to Wally World for H & R Block to figure them out.

If there's a problem, the IRS should look for it, not the likes of Chuckie Schumer and Nancy Pelosi or their ilk. They should try doing something constructive for a change.

I never said that it was the law. But you agreed withMuddy that Congress ritters who became millionaires and billionaires should have to report their incomes and that’s not a law either. But it would be a good one, if it included all administration positions and POTUS too.
I don’t see how you can argue for one and not the other.
I’m not throwing in the towel. There is no towel. It seems we agree, Daryl.

Ha! Now I get'cha'. I think the meme is a bit of tongue in cheek ... but "thought provoking".

I guess I'm just not accustomed to us being on the same page and was a bit blinded.

I have a solution, every candidate for any state or federal office should have to pass the same kind of scrutiny that Brett Kavanaugh did before their name goes on the ballot then again before every reelection bid

I agree, I would like to see everyone who holds public office share their tax returns from their time in office. The difference is the dems want to see Trumps from prior to him taking office and he was a private citizen. Only a hypocrite can’t see the difference in those 2 things.
