Warning: Thump rambling here (and possible shit disturbing).

Something that happened on Sunday got me thinking. I was working an estate sale and one of the customers asked me if I had change for a "Benjamin". I knew he was talking about a $100 bill, but when he said it, I started thinking about which former President's images were on our currency and trying to name them. It wasn't all that difficult, but I got busy and promptly forgot about it. Last night as I was watching images of "Civil War" statues being vandalized along with everything remotely related to slavery being abolished, something clicked in my pea-brain and I again thought about the images on our currency. I jumped on the ol' 'puter this morning and decided to do a bit of research and made some notes.

Number one ... The White House was mostly built with slave labor. Should it be torn down?

    But, back to the "Benjamin".

Geo. Washington is on the $1 bill, he was a slave owner.
Thomas Jefferson is on the $2 bill, he was a slave owner.
Alexander Hamilton is on the $10 bill, he was anti-slavery, but married a slave owner's daughter (it's unclear whether she brought a "personal slave" into the marriage).
Andrew Jackson is on the $20, he was a slave owner.
Ulysses Grant (how ironic) is on the $50, he was a slave owner.
Ben Franklin is on the $100 bill, he was a slave owner.
Now, if you can find an old $500 bill layin' around, James Madison is on that one, he was a slave owner.

I haven't even bothered looking at our coinage.

Once the "powers that be" finish tearing down statues, changing the names of streets, schools & government buildings, along with rice and pancake syrup icons, etc, etc, etc .... should we start changing the images on all of our "foldin' money" and pocket change?

Heck, I live in Polk, County ... named after James K. Polk, a slave owner. I can't even imagine how many counties, named after ex-slave owners, are in this country. Will it be demanded that ALL those counties change their names? Washington State was named after George Washington, he was a slave owner. Heck, that's a West Coast, snowflake governed state, shouldn't they be all over this (really odd they're not, huh?). Maybe change it to "King" ... for MLK. Heck, it's hard to find a city ANYWHERE in this country without an MLK street, avenue, blvd. or freeway. How 'bout Mt. Washington, also named after good ol' George ... I don't know how those North Easterners can sleep at night knowing that big ol' pimple on their State map is named after a slave owner.

I guess I'm just wondering where and when all this bullshit is going to end? Or if it EVER will?

Wow, this could be the mother of all Thump posts, but I'l declare this rant over with ... sorry. Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Mount McKinley was already renamed to Denali a few years ago. Was he that bad of a dude?
