My opinion, just keep it simple. Cheryl's gonna have enough "EOW, we'll take it from here" type stuff as it is. I expect the law enforcement element to his service will be immense. We were his outdoors friends, not his LEO people.

I'd go with something like "Sent with love and support to the Plyler Family from the Goodhunting Crew"
