The first time I met Larke in person I had driven down from Cary to his place after a business trip. I hunted with him at his SC place for four days. One of the nights he took me out to his ‘hunt club’ and introduced me to his lease buddies at their deer camp. It was quite the setup. They introduced me to Camp Pate’. The ingredients were peanut butter, sardines, hot sauce, and shredded cheese. It was actually quite good. I’m not sure a list of how much you use of each exists. And real good Carolina shine.

I won’t ever forget Camp Pate’.

the amount of shine was probably directly proportional to the quality of the pate'

One thing I never ever figured out was if the dish was called Camp Pate’ after his good buddy Big Jim Camp, or if it was called that because they made it at deer camp.

I'd have to think you re-word that a bit Q/A. I think it should probably read more along the lines of:

"The quality of the pate' is probably directly proportional to the amount of shine consumed."

Kind'a like how much better the "closin' time wimmins" start lookin' after "last call".
