A cooking error turned out really well......

Yesterday morning, I got a whole venison front shoulder from the freezer.....it was frozen rock solid, and wifey wanted it thawed out quickly, so I just threw it on the smoker, and set the temp to 200.....it was already wrapped in foil, so I thought what the heck could it hurt.
We both got busy with other activities of the day, and completely forgot about the venison.....about 4 pm, it hit me that the venison was still on the smoker.....long story short, that was the most tender piece of venison that I ever cooked.....I think having it wrapped in the foil was the secret.
I'll never, again, waste my time, thawing out venison before putting it on the smoker.

HA, this from a guy who eats chinese pig scrotums and raw squid testicles, then critiques my wife's delicious venison and gravy for not being photogenic.

BTW, she says to go get yourself a stool.

She got sidetracked by Phole's merkin comment, and wanted to know what it is.....I told her to google it.....she did, then laughed, when she read that it's a covering of artificial hair for the pubic area.....however, she got grossed out, when she scrolled down, and read a comment about how often should men shave their balls.

Well, it's OBVIOUS the fault lies with the photographer, NOT the cook! (how's that for a save?)

that does sound good! I love brown gravy and jasmine rice!

You must have an electric smoker, cause if I walked away from mine that long it would be ambient temp when I checked it again!
