Perfect 77-degrees here today and supposed to be in the 80's for the rest of the week. I think a "cold front" is supposed to roll in on Sunday with a high in the mid-60's for 2-3 days, then back into the mid-70's the rest of the week.

35 and raining straight down here this morning. Another raw day. I think I’ll take the day off!

34 degrees here this morning with a freezing rain. At least we had a couple of inches of snow on the ground from late last night so it wasn’t as slippery.

P-hole, I'm headed to Tampa for a VA appt. first thing this morning, but I'll have the rest of the day off. Wanna meet me at the beach? Maybe Clearwater? We'll have a Super Grouper sammich at Frenchy's first. Not the newer yuppie places ... the old original joint om Baymont Street. (I'm feelin' nostalgic)

As long we can stop by Skip’s Bar and Grill! I saw a few of the Coral Reefers play there quite a bit back in the day.

You talkin' 'bout the joint in Dunedin? That'll work for me! Got's ta' run. I'll meet you there at noon.

Not sure. ‘Course Dunedin and Madeira Beach are only about 15 mins. from each other. Dunedin is on the north side of Clearwater and Madeira is on the south side. I’m in the doctor’s lobby right now, so just tell me what you’ll be driving and I’ll find you.

Been howling and raining sideways all night. Warmish though. Typical west coast winter weather.

No this place was on Madiera Beach very close to a place called Mad Beach Bar. A couple of guys who played regularly at the Inn Between on Court Street in Clearwater started a band with Harry Daley of the Reefers called the Mad Beach band and played there often.

Yep, I wasn't familiar with 'em P-hole. I don't think any of that exists these days.

    Is this the joint?

This is how the band ended up. It appears they got back together for nostalgia purposes last year.

That’s it! That whole strip of beach from Clearwater to Fort Desoto was bars and beaches and restaurants and little hotels. And a ton of fun for an Okie who was living by the ocean for the first time.

    They effed it all up.

It was in the low 80’s today, but we have a cold front rolling in on Sunday.

Well, it was set in a small town in Indiana, but I think it was closer to Lake Michigan. I’m in the NE corner of the state about two hours from Lake Michigan. Although I have seen at least one of the lamps in a window here.
