Headed out for the day ...

It's a beautiful, sunny day and 82-degrees. We're headed out to our favorite Thai place to pig out, then gonna drop off a Birthday present for a close friend. She's been in nursing for over 50 years and just retired yesterday. Today is her 80th birthday. Kind of a double celebration.

    Enjoy!

We’ve got freezing rain here today so I don’t think I will get out unless I have to. It’s early enough in the season that people haven’t remembered how drive in winter conditions yet.

Cold rain and temps in the 30’s here. Good hibernating weather. Gotta lay on some winter fat first...

Well, we over-ordered so we'd have left-overs to bring home, but I have to admit, there wasn't much left!

Obviously eating is in fashion at GH!

We did some steaks and taters, mandarin orange spinach salad, and of course blackeyed peas for our NYD dinner.

WTF are you doing cooking those nice steaks in a modern Lodge???

Dang that looks good! Looks like what I had Christmas Eve. Love the mandarin orange spinach salad btw!

That ain’t a modern Lodge, Daryl. That’s the cheap Lewis and Clark commemorative big old thick pan I got from you. All that gets cooked in it are steaks and its a dandy! I can heat that puppy up as hot as a firecracker and if it busts, which it won’t, I’ll holler at you to get me another’n.
Its become one of my favorite CI pieces.

Ha! It looked a bit familiar so I had to screw with you. (Truthfully, it’s hard to tell from the pic) Like calling your Tundra a Ford.

Nothing like cast iron, but it’s really hard for Lynn to lift and I don’t cook, so ours get limited use.
