    Done deal!

I had my second (final) Covid shot about 3-1/2 hours ago, then Lynn and I treated ourselves to a nice lunch in Tampa. Making a few stops and will be headed home. I understand tomorrow may be when I start growing a third eyeball or something. I’ll let you know.

I get #2 a week from tomorrow, hear both good and bad things, will wait and see.
They say not SEX for a week, because you still need to keep 6' apart, but maybe in your case that's not a problem.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

Scheduled for my round 2 shot, next Wednesday. Sure wish I could get my parents lined up for the vaccinations.

No issues whatsoever here on the day after. In fact, when I feel my arm, I can't even tell where the injection site was. So far, as long as nothing changes, it's been a total non-issue for me with BOTH shots. (Knock on wood)

First shot didn't phase me, that second one kicked my butt a little with a high fever and chills. However, I still went to work and just toughed it out. I found out later that about a half a dozen of our staff got so sick they went home. It seems to be a lot like Covid and affects everyone a little differently.

    Done deal!

I had the Pfizer and didn’t have any issues other than a sore arm. Same with my wife and in-laws.

Seems like most if not all of the people I’ve personally heard of having issues had the Moderna vaccine.

    Pfizer here.

Maybe we should do a vaccine/side-effects survey.

My wife is a 5th grade Christian school teacher so she got on the short list for a vaccine. She is schedule to get her second shot in 2 weeks.
She got her first on 2/5. Then got covid on 2/11, and we are right now all officially out of quarantine.
    She got it.
    My youngest got it.
Me and me oldest tested negative (3 times each over the last 7 days). I’m pretty sure I had it and was false negative.

Anywho, all are good now. They recovered after 3 days of sleeping 18-20 hours a day.

So, does my wife even need the second one? Is she good now?

I think they are still recommending that you get the shot. She might want to check though because there might be some time frame from a positive test before they will give it.

I'd planned from day one to stand back and watch the results at the beginning. This was due to the fact I was a bit skeptical about the way they were rushed into production and zipped right past most of the trials usually associated with such things, all in order to get them into the system asap. I got over it pretty fast and decided to roll the dice as soon as it was available to me. TBH, I'm glad to have been given the opportunity as it's actually been a bit of a stress reliever as far as I'm concerned. I'm not really that much of a rebel anyway and feel the gamble is worth it ... not only for myself, but everyone around me.

I was going to take the same approach but then had a couple of family friends die from Covid complications. That really freaked my wife out and I got the first dose right after Christmas. More to pacify her than me thinking it was necessary.

The rush to approval was a worry for me too. Then I had the thought that maybe all vaccines could be produced this quickly and the long regulatory process is a way for the drug companies to justify their exorbitant pricing.

Both my wife and I had COVID and have tested positive for the antibodies. However, we’ll still get the vaccine when our time comes. We haven’t seen our parents, other than once or twice outdoors and across the yard for a couple of hours, in over a year. This assumes there hasn’t been some sort of evidence of a problem between now and then.

I'd like to take an antibody test cause I have a sneaking suspicion that the wife and I already had the bug.

Johnboy, Lynn and I suspected the same at one point. At almost the same time, we both inexplicably lost most of our sense of taste. It only lasted a few days and we had no other issues, but have heard that's one of the symptoms of Covid. BUT ... we donate blood every 2-months and each time they perform an antibody test. Ours have ALWAYS been negative.

I remember years ago I had a real nasty flu and lost my sense of smell and taste for over a year. Couldn't tell vinegar from water. Terrible as I was really into cooking at the time and it's pretty tough to chef when you can't taste anything. Came back gradually with the first thing I could smell being poop. Go figure. Works great now.

Antibody test is $30 here. No need for a doctor’s referral.

My wife and I discussed this and we are not going to encourage our teen and 22 year old healthy sons to get the vaccine just yet.
The big unknown in our mind is what type of possible fertility and or birth defect side effects this possibly (slight chance I’m sure) could cause. If we were 23 and not 43 neither of us would get it. But we’re done having kids.
And that is the ONLY logical reason we could come up with as far as NOT getting it.

Selfish maybe.... but we’d like to have grandkids one day.
And there IS that chance. That we won’t know for a while.

I WAS slated to get round #2 on Wednesday but am hearing that the storm that went through last week MAY delay that.

Last dose 4 days ago and absolutely ZERO issues here, not even the highly reported sore arm.

They gave me a good guy sticker like the "I Voted" sticker you get at election time. These will probably be historical items 100 years from now. I can see my great grandkids listing it on ebay as a reminder of the Great Pandemic of 2020!

2nd shots for my parents and in-laws both scheduled for today still appear to be happening.
