Yup, there is no 'perfect rig'. As you say, pluses and negatives for all of them. It really depends on what you plan to do with it - long distance highway travel to far distant parts or a jaunt down the road to a favourite local place. If you plan to carry a golf cart in the bed you'll need an 8ft bed and probably a 1 ton to handle the weight of the cargo plus the tongue weight of the trailer (which will be a bunch). Better to have too much truck than too little. Also invest in the BEST anti-sway hitch you can get.
All I can say is that with my experience with a trailer doing the death wobble and flipping over on a busy highway, I would certainly be looking at a 5th wheel of that size. Just MHO. Good luck with whatever you choose.
