Our Great Model
Okay, so the population experts say that in the U.S. we need to be at Moms having 2.1 kids in order to ‘replenish’ our population. Were at 1.6 right now. Why is this important? They also say that over half of our economic growthcurrently comes from increasing the population of working people. That’s right. Not a real sustainable model is it? There’s an outside chance, according to the WSJ, that we might actually see a decrease in population in the US in the near future, Some of that of course is due to Covid.
Sounds to me like we need to get used to not being able to sustain perpetual growth for ever and ever.
Very strange. I think we have enough damn people already.
