I have to admit, I was kind of lukewarm about Venables at first but with Jeff Lebby coming along as OC it makes for a pretty strong move from a recruiting comtinuity standpoint. The damage is done but this move, along with Stoopsie’s calming affect as interim, made for the least one could expect I guess.

Looks likethe Sooners will be fine. And Lebby brings some SEC recruiting chops we need too. Wonder who the luck DC will be? That’ll be interesting.

Lots of talk about poaching Barry Odom from arkansas but I doubt he'd leave. He and Pittman are great friends and although Oklahoma DC would be a step up I think he's probably holding out for a P5 head coaching job. Besides a DC working under Venables would have his work cut out for him.
