    Birthday dinner number 1

Our best friends of the past 33 years took us out to a top end Chinese restaurant (he’s Chinese) for my birthday last night. He owns a chain of 12-15 Subway franchises. Anyway, here are a few pics of dinner. I forgot to take a pic of the seafood soup (crab, lobster, shrimp and scallops!), but I “think” I got a pic of everything else. (And yes, it was just the 4 of us)

Then we returned to their house for cake and ice cream. (A cake for 4)

Tonight will be dinner #2 as Lynn is taking me out for a nice steak dinner to one of the top steak houses in the country. A VERY interesting place. We did my birthday dinner there 5 years ago and it’s a cool experience. After dinner, if you want desert, you move to the “desert room”, like a separate restaurant within a restaurant. Then, there’s the wine cellar (the largest in the world) with over 500,000 bottles of wine and they’ll give you a free tour. It’s full of rare wines and they are still trying to catalog the collection. In fact, they found a $30,000 bottle of wine (a wine expert said it would probably bring $50,000 at auction), but they will only sell to dinner guests and they have to be consumed on site. There are already quite a few interested in the bottle and there’s a first come, first serve policy, so if you’re thirsty, come on down. Lynn snagged a 7:00 reservation for tonight which is a feat in itself. They will only take reservations 90 days out and they are always fully booked. The way the reservation system works is, when a day passes, reservations for day 90 opens and it’s a scramble to snag a time. If you don’t get in, you have to wait for reservations to open the next day, etc. So the earliest reservation you can get is 90 days out, IF you can snag it in time!

Interesting read if you have the time. http://https://www.visitflorida.com/...ar-tour-tampa/

Some of those pictures looks like what my dog does when he ate to much.
    Glad you enjoy that stuff.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

That all looks delicious to me, JB. But, I was wondering what the other three (other than Thump) had for dinner…

Huh? Top to bottom. Lobster, mussels, crab, shrimp, seafood hot pot, eggplant and greens. Plus a seafood soup I forgot to take a pic of. It was so good it disappeared before I thought to take pics. Obviously a Chinese seafood restaurant.
