    Later dufuses ...

We're playing like we're retired people and headed out in the motorhome for a quick 5 days on the Peace River. Will come back home for a few days then back out for 4 more days on the Crystal River. Should be a relaxing couple'a trips. Adios.

Interesting how people are different. I'm never relaxed when I'm away from home, even if it's just over night to see the grandkids I'm as edgy as a whore in church until I point that black chevy back toward southern Arkansas. The most beautiful sight in the world is that big bull pine beside the driveway when I'm pulling in

Totally relaxed now. At home there’s always something that needs to be done. Here, it still needs to be done, but it’ll just have to wait until I get home. The only stress so far was filling up at $5/gal (diesel) and Lynn asking me to catch supper (then realizing I forgot my fishing pole!)

First pic was taken just after we pulled in and had yet to get set up. The second is a view I don’t think anyone would complain about. I may have to cut a stick, find some string and see if I can bend a paper clip.

    Nice place here.

Got settled in and took GG the Camper Cat for a walk (she thinks she’s a dog), then came back to the motorhome to catch the NASCAR race.

Damn. I think that’s one thing nobody will ever catch me doing is walking a pussy cat.

    Definitely a conversation starter though.

Ha! Trust me, I understand. But she is super cool and a lot of fun to have along tbh. Plus, she thinks she owns this motor home and there’s absolutely no way she’ll let us leave home without her. We tried sneaking off once, but she was onto us immediately and was inside like a lightning bolt and ready to go. This is her favorite seat when we’re underway. Right in the middle of the dash.

As a kid in Jr. H/S, I had a close buddy, Steve (we grew up together) with an Ocelot and that was one cool cat. It actually belonged to his older brother, Chuck, but he took care of it while Chuck was away attending college. I don’t remember whatever happened to that cat as Chuck graduated, then went into the Coast Guard, then went back to college to become an optometrist. We always stayed in touch, but he just passed away from cancer 2 years ago.

My buddy Steve was my age but passed away at 55. (He was riding his bike when hit by a car). It was always weird remembering all the crazy shit we did as kids, because he grew up to be a preacher!

I still stay in touch with their sister as she’s the only one left in the family. Next time I talk to her, I need to remember to ask her whatever happened to that Ocelot.

Looks like a great spot to wind down from your hectic days of being retired.

    Have fun!

Was just there over Christmas but given I am currently employed there is NO way I want to pull my camper all the way to FLO-Rida.

Well, we’ll be in Minnesota in September. Will that be close enough? Take a vacation, we’ll be camping our way down to New Orleans from there.

Your camp site looks like a good place to find snakes, bug's and gators, non of which make for a fun time .
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

Awwww, there ain’t none of that stuff down here Bubba. ‘Course we do have this sign in front of us, but that’s just propaganda to keep the Yankees away!

Of course the water is FULL of locals, tubing, kayaking, swimming and just playing in the water. No biggie.

Ha! I had to expand it out to see what you were talking about. Yeah, I was stretched out on the recliner to watch the race. That’s a microwave and convection oven. There’s an induction cooktop as well as a gas burner on the countertop. Then there’s a gas port on the outside that a gas grill plugs into, as well as a crock pot and air fryer inside. I have a small charcoal grill, but most campgrounds have a grill and fire ring, so I seldom bring the grill. Lots of cooking options so Lynn can keep me fed!

Thump - I have an outdoor pellet grill that I use sometimes but as far as outdoor cooking equipment goes I use my Blackstone 10X more than anything else. And, it will plug directly into your outdoor gas line

Actually Hombre, I wanted a Blackstone, but when I bought my grill, I was in the process of completely outfitting the camper and money was flowing out the door like water. I found a 2-burner Nexgrill on sale, plus got a military discount, so got it for $90 and change. The Blackstone was a bit pricey, but I’ll probably upgrade to a Blackstone once this one wears out. Here’s the one I ended up with.

Now I really wouldn’t mind waking up to this EVERY day. Wish I’d have remembered my fishing pole.

    Later dufuses ...

I snapped this pic of Lynn down by the water.

Then I asked her who her buddy was crawling up behind her.
