    Stopped for Chinese take-out in L. A.

We were visiting with Lynn’s family when Lynn, her brother and myself decided to go pick up some Chinese take-out for dinner. I wanted AUTHENTIC Chinese, which isn’t hard to find in L. A. I snapped this pic to send to my Chinese buddy in Florida (just to make him jealous)

This place is take-out only and there was a CONSTANT flow of people in and out. They must make a bazillion bucks a day.

See anything you want on the menu?

We checked in with our friends after returning home Friday and were immediately invited over for homemade Chinese on Independence Day. We pigged out last night and since they’re leaving tomorrow for a couple weeks of traveling, we got “stuck” bringing home all the left-overs!

Sorry, I forgot to snap a pic of dessert.

    Ha ha! Pretty much!

This couple has been our best friends since moving here 33 years ago. He’s the Subway guy (has 12-15 stores In town here). The side benefit is, we get free subs at any of his stores. He gave us a card many years ago that we flash at the register and they just wave us through.

Your buddy must like to live on the edge...I've seen you eat so giving you a free food card seems like quite the liability. ;-)

It’s hard to imagine any “leftovers” based on that pic. Looks good though. I’m a fairly adventuresome eater, but I’ll pass on the intestines unless I’m stranded somewhere…

PLENTY of left-overs. Only a small portion was on the table when pics were taken, the rest was still in the kitchen. He cooked three large racks of ribs, but gave one to a neighbor.

Found the pic of dessert. Homemade Japanese Sponge Cake with fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and whipped cream. (I’ll admit I had two helpings!)
