    RIP Robbie

Robbie Knievel passed away on Friday at 60 years old. I never met Robbie, but knew his dad, Robert (better known as Evel).

When I worked with my dad designing and building custom Cadillacs, Evel bought the original prototype (the only 1974 model ever produced … it was red). He later bought a white ‘76 model, which was one of our regular production cars. Odd, he lived longer than his son.

I guess Robbie’s passing marks the end of an era.

Here is the ‘74 prototype. Last I heard, it is in a museum somewhere on loan by the present owner.

And this is his ‘76 model. I’m not really sure whatever happened to this car.

I also saw where Robbie Bachman, the drummer for BTO, and Lisa Marie Presley also died in the last week or so.

Yep, they’re dropping like flies. It sucks.
