    Butkus

He was in his heydey when I was a teenager. When the Bears became Da Bears. Middle linebackers were like warriors. Butkus, Singleterry, Hendricks. He lived to a ripe old age to have run his motor like he did. RIP to a real sports legend.

He was the standard that every linebacker should be measured by, I've never seen one better. Probably never will. He couldn't play in today's game, he was too violent. I remember when Ditka close-lined a fan trying to run out on the field and when he was criticized for it he said "I probably saved his life, if he'd got out on the field he might have pissed off Butkus"
