    Yeeee Haaaaaw!!!

We left Spain last night and headed for the Azores (Portugal). The Captain said we have some rough seas ahead. Our cabin is on the port side, so after passing the Rock of Gibraltar, we went to our cabin and I parked my butt out on the balcony to watch as we passed Morocco (a couple hours). So, we transitioned from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.

We eventually watched a movie and went to bed. Wow! Around 3:00-3:30 am (we’re 6 hours ahead, Eastern time) I was awakened as we hit some heavy seas! The bed is like a roller-coaster right now and I’m loving every second of it. I tried staying out on the balcony and hanging onto the railing, but I need full rain gear and was getting soaked even though we’re way up on deck 8! It’s like a typhoon out there and we’re hitting some monster waves and wind to go with it. I honestly don’t know if it’s raining, or is all salt spray, but this vessel is riding the huge swells like a bull at the county fair!

It’s 4:30 now and still going strong. Talk about major white caps! This right here is worth the price of admission, although I’d assume most passengers would disagree 👍

Sounds like it’s a good thing they put that extra ballast in before your trip.

They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water…

Gotta counter balance the added weight up on level 8.

So that’s why Deleware is under six inches of water right now.

Doesn't sound like fun to me.

I don't usually mind waves and nasty boat rides, but that is when I can look around and see land. I don't believe being trapped inside a room that is constantly pitching and rolling would be my thing.

Ha ha! I could imagine how a dufe from NoDak would be nervous about open water, but it ain’t THAT bad. Heck, the average age of the passengers on this tub is probably around 102 and they can still ride their scooters down the hallways without tipping over.

It’s a modern ship with stabilizers. (Oh, and a bunch of lifeboats!)

It doesn’t look like much in the pic, but we’re rockin’ & rollin’ today! We’re sitting up in the Crow’s Nest, 13 stories up, so the sea “looks” pretty smooth from here. You want to know what a REAL adventure is, I just visited the pisser … standing at a urinal is an exciting venture, let me tell ya’!

Oh well, I’m actually enjoying it … it’s both interesting and exciting at the same time. To add even more fun to the equation, we’re just coming into the Bermuda Triangle!

Ooops! Forgot a pic. (As I said, not that impressive from 13 floors up)

That comment about the pisser made me laugh. When I was halibut fishing in Alaska the ocean was a little rough. They had a ultra tiny bathroom on the boat. Picture a bathroom smaller that is on an airplane. I'm not sure how a large person would even use it. Anyway trying to hit that micro toilet while standing and dancing a balance jig was quite the challenge.

    Sit in the urinal?

Yeah, I suppose I could have gone into the crapper to have a seat, but that water is COLD when the twins hit it!
