I hadn’t heard of them but took a look at their website. Just for kicks, I priced one for my boat.

$5K seems a bit pricey for a prop! That damn near the cost of a 40 HP outboard.

If it gets the extra mileage, power, and torque at lower rpms like they say it might pay for itself in a few seasons. It also might be a consideration if you were buying a new boat or engine and could buy a lesser hp. But that’s only IF you believe their claims. This might be the old injected water vapor scams of old.

I use my boat a lot. It’s in the water from mid to late April to the middle of October and use it just about every day in the summer. I’ve never added it up, but a high estimate of what I spent on fuel last year is $3000. A 20% savings in fuel would still take over 8 years to break even.

Well, you’ve obviously forgotten the value of the coolness factor. That’d be a one summer ROI. Of course whenyou were parked around other boats you’d have to trim your motor way up so they could see it.

You’re right. I didn’t take that into consideration. My lake does have a very popular sandbar and with that showing, I’d be the talk of the sandbar for at least a good portion of the season.

…. or until somebody follows you home to steal that fancy prop you’ve been showing off!

A cotter pin and a castle nut is all it takes! That’s why you need a $500 cooler on the deck to distract them.

Too spendy for my old tug, especially given how little the ol girl gets used.

Speaking of the sandbar on my lake, here is an aerial view.
The large barge in the center is a restaurant.
