proud, upset and scared all in the last 10 hours.

I got a call at 2 am saying that one of my sons teammates had been taken to the hospital after having a seizure. So we got up and went to check on him. Got him discharged a few hours later with orders for follow up work with a doctor. That was good. Anyway, his parents who I have known for years since I coached him as a little guy (he has always played up and worked his ass off) didn't send him to school against his objections because he didn't want to miss the game today. He told them that since he wasn't bleeding and a bone wasn't sticking out that he would be fine.that line sounded VERY familiar to me. Something stuck and I am very proud that I helped teach him that. Anyway, he is going with me to the game, afterall, who better to be with than a paramedic. So, as I set here eating vanilla ice cream and beaming wih pride, my golden retriever is smiling at me through the back door. Apparently after rolling in cowshit.
