    Gosh dangit!

Was at an estate sale today. It was the estate of a retired Eastern Airlines pilot. I found an old pilot's cap still in the orig. box and it had the old Eastern brass logo thingy on the front. It was in excellent shape. I picked it up, looked it over, thought it was cool, but for some reason I put it back. They were asking $10.00 for it. A guy walked in right behind me and grabbed it up immediately. I asked him about it and he said he runs an antique store, the hat is from the 30's and he can get $125.00 for that thing all day long. Dammit! Live and learn ... I'm still an amateur at this stuff ... but getting a little better at it. Obviously, I have a long way to go.

I think you need to draft a strongly worded email on this.

Dang you Niner! The hat was just like that BUT ... in it's original box! To tell you the truth, Lynn overheard his cell phone conversation and he told the party on the other end about the hat he'd found. LYNN told me he said he could get TWELVE-FIFTY for it "all day long". I told Lynn she must have misunderstood him and it was "maybe" $125. I saw him later and asked about another item he was buying, that's when he said he had an antique shop. Lynn's actually the one who overheard the price he quoted.

Excuse me now ... I think I'm gonna get sick.

    (Dang rookie mistakes REALLY hurt)

Personally, I'd rather pass on the opportunity to earn something later than fill up my house with some stuff that I'd never get around to selling..
