Sangria recipe???....
Anybody got a good or favorite sangria recipe?
I havent had any sangria in years and got a hankering for some after seeing a pitcher of it on tv.
I think the last time I had any was at a little Cajun cafe outside New Orleans several years ago.
There was about a 5 gal. bucket of the stuff sitting at the end of the bar.
Folks were drinking it freely and I remember the waitress asking if we wanted some poured over our ice cream for dessert.
Sounded weird but I tried it and it was almost like a thick sangria milkshake.
Pretty dang good combo.

We just buy some cheap old Yago, pour it in a pitcher and squeeze a bunch of fresh fruit into it. And then add a bunch of slices ofthe fruit to the pitcher and it's ready to go. Oranges, lemons, and limes go in ours. Good summertime cooler.

I agree with Post-Toastie. We get some already bottled at Sam's (forgot the name) and it's pretty good stuff. We just add the fruit and it's good to go. Why make extra work for yourself?

It depends on what kind of sangria you want to make.. I spent last summer perfecting mine, but I gotta tell you-- it might be a little strong for your taste.
White, Tropical:
1 Mango or Peach
Pineapple chunks to taste
1/2 Lime or Lemon
1.5L bottle of cheap, white wine. Recommend Yellow Tail Riesling or similar.
1 Pint Brandy (or vodka)
Slice fruit (or blend and filter later, for stronger flavor)
Red:
1/2 Orange (or 1 mandarin orange)
Cherries or strawberries
1 apple, sliced
1.5L Cheap red wine, recommend Carlo Russi Burgundy
1 pint brandy
Slice fruit, mix, let set overnight.

Dang, Foo, that sounds like good stuff.
Thump, see if Lynn remembers the name of the stuff you got at Walmart.
Might try both your's and Foo's.

We got it at Sam's. I assume Walmart may have it, don't know. I just asked Lynn what it was called and I guess it's the same thing P-hole mentioned. Yago.
