If its junk mail, I kill it pretty soon. Otherwise I keep em "forever". When I got the new computer, I moved the old emails onto the new computer....it was ONLY about a 1.5GB file.
Same as Co9 here. "Junk mail" gets deleted immediately. The rest stays. I just checked and have over 6000!
Same here. I keep emails if I need the email addy or something but I usually delete the ones in my personal email as soon as I read them. Considering I get 150 to 200 work emails per day, I don't have a lot of time to mess with email.

Sounds reasonable....I just deleted 5,827....gonna keep the other 4,064, which began in 2012.

I think mine get dumped whenever my computer crashes ... then I start over with a new computer.
I never delete them. Never had a need to with Gmail.
If we all threw our problems in a pile, and you saw everyone else's problems-- you'd take yours back.
I delete all the useless crap mostly without reading it. Everything else I keep until my mailbox freezes up and I can't send or receive any more. Then, I archive them to my hard drive.

I delete everything, but the last week of emails or ones with info I need access to.
