    Accidental Fisherman

We went down to The Farm early this morning with the intention of getting a lot of the waist-high weeds cut. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that the bush hog was not attached to my tractor. So...rather than loose an hour connecting it (and the place wher it is is head high in weeds), Di proceeded with her tractor.

I decided to do some fishing. But I had forgotten most of my good poles and tackle were at home. So I found a small rattletrap and connected to a old ultralight reel to see what I could see.

Didn't catch very many. A few small bass, and a catfish, and this little feller.

I was very glad to see him. This means the bream I stocked several years ago are still thriving and surviving.

Good deal Niner. I have a top-water bass fly I throw that's probably 5" long with a 1/0 hook . Bluegills just bang hell out of that thing - and occasionally even managed to get hooked. Pugnacious little bastards.
If you turn a dog loose to hunt – you’d better to be ready to deal with what he trees.

I like to think of bluegills as "ambitious".
