    A night with the boys

Could not ask for a better August night to spend time with my three sons.
Cool temps, calm seas, clear skies.
Marked lots of fish, but only got two in the boat. We were fishing 12 poles and covered depths from 30' down to 85'
#1 started things off with this nice 18# King, then as we were clearing lines at dusk #3 hooked this 21# that took about 20 minutes to land. Got home about midnight.

The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

Looks like bigtime fun right there! That should make quite a few fish-sticks for dinner.

Now that is the way to do it!

So what lures did they bite on?

I see Big Jon downriggers but no hint of the magic lures being used. If they use the same things on your side of Lake Michigan as they do where we have fished out of Algoma, WI the answer is just about anything as long as it is a blue and silver salmon fly of some sort or at least that is what the charter boats mostly have.

I think he's trolling a bacon rind that's been kept overnight in an empty Cheetohs bag, Bwana. I think its a secret too so don't tell anybody.

Wife bought "Bacon with rind" last month (by mistake, just picked it up). Didn't know they made such stuff anymore. Took me back.

I'm not sure what bacon with rind is, but I did try some of the bacon you all were raving about amonth or so ago and it was good stuff. They're mighty proud of it though.
