A few pics of SC fishes .....

Wow! I really had a blast this week at Cap'n's little slice of Heaven.
We found a few fish that were foolish enough to jump on my offerings...

That's great! So what did they bite?

Late in the afternoons after it cooled down enough where you could draw a breath we smoked them on top water baits. Mostly tiny torpedoes, frog and bass color. I also used a broke back Rapala and would let it sit on top, then crank it just under the water and stop it and give it a couple of underwater twitches. Most the time the strike would come on the stop.
Really had a ball and one particular afternoon they were chasing minnows in the shallows hard. They were very aggressive and many cast they would charge the bait before it hit the water, and POUND it just as it touched down. You could literally see a wake of water pushing to the bait.. Very cool time.

I caught that first bass on a large "beetle spinner" with a 3" curly-tailed grub.

Larke was SMOKING them with that Tiny Torpedo....and I had none in my bag o' tricks. So, I tried a top water chugger bait. The bass would have NONE of that!! Got a couple of rolls, but no biters. Next day found us at the bait shop and a couple of those torpedoes in my hot little hand!

The next evening I had one tied on. The first cast landed that catfish. A few casts later laned the second lunker. Not to mention several "average" sized ones that didn't warrant a photo op.
