Let's play a little game of What The Heck That Is...

Can anyone guess what this thing is, and it's purpose?

Well, I was gonna say its a goddammit, as in 'hand me that goddammit', but didn't want to offend anybody. 'The goddammit broke' though is a universal expression everywhere.

    Winner Cap'n.
It MAY have been somekindof cultivator in a prior life. But for the last dozen or so years it has lived in the bed of my truck, and served as "The Getter". Just handier than a shirt pocket, and makes getting stuff out of the truck bed 10,000% easier than climbing up and down.

Danged things ought to be standard equipment with a full sized truck!

I'd say 84 is a little low. At least it is form me. I start feeling "goofy" when I get under about 90.

Good on ya for the weight loss! That can only be a good thing.

Well if Cappy was a little taller he'd just walk to the front of the pickup bed and reach over the side like I do.
I didn't need that damn thing sliding all around the truck as I was driving.
The older I get, the better I was. I also forget my password and have to have Len reset it for me

You big Yankee dufus! We in the south that work have tool boxes on our trucks. Chit' is always sliding under the boxes. Even as tall and long armed as you are you ain't gonna get to all that stuff. Sometimes you need a grabber...

Besides, with a decent bed liner nothing slides around.

Well it ain't a corn rake.. I'd tear it up in in less than an hour.

Niner, I'm sure your "getter-grabber" works great....even made one to keep in my truck bed several years ago....but, mine might be a bit safer for kids and pets that ride in the pickup bed....no sharp tines, and not as heavy.

Pretty simple really....just a 5 foot piece of 1/2 inch metal conduit with a 3 inch crook, bent and flattened out on one end.

BTW, Niner, the guy that traps beavers off my farm, uses a tined fork like your's for digging out beaver dams.

Thanks funny Eddie. That's exactly what I originally bought that tater fork for. I was trapping beavers and used it to open a run through the dams to set traps. It laid in the back of the truck for weeks while I was trapping and it was awful handy to reach crap under the tool box with so I've just always left it there since. It's been There the last two trucks.
