My favorite gun shop here in town has a gun that went with L&C on their journey. It's a rail mounted blunderbuss in great condition.
Owner of the shop is a buddy of mine and he picked it up years ago from the Clark family that lived in the Detroit area. Has letters and documents on it. I"ve held it, talk about a feeling of history.
It's available if you have about $250K.

The gent from Pawn Stars would give him $50 for it.
Now that would be something to hold in your hands. I'm jealous. Always loved the stories about how those guys made it and what equipment they used.

One of the things I picked up in reading some of the history is that one of the guys was a hardcore fisherman. He caught catfish on the trip that were estimated at over 200 pounds. Blues I imagine, though it doesn't stipulate. Big fish even if he "exaggerated" a bit.
